Continue planning

Outside the inn, Shima’s river landscape gives you a reason to linger. The Shima Potholes reveal smooth hollows carved into the riverbed, while Lake Okushima offers forest-framed water whose blue colour changes with the light and season. Choose one landscape outing rather than assuming both are next to the ryokan, arrange the local transport and return, and view the river from permitted paths instead of climbing onto wet rocks.
