Spend the afternoon in Sengokuhara, then let a bath of your own set the pace for the evening. Susukinohara Ichinoyu gives every guest room an open-air bath: you can build the stay around private bathing rather than a separately reserved time slot. The appeal is simple—time outside, time in the water, and no need to hurry straight back out again.

Pale wooden screens, a low table and a bed give this room example a gentle, uncluttered feel. After a soak, settle into the sitting area and enjoy having nowhere else to be. Choose the actual building, bed or futon arrangement and capacity for your party; room and bath layouts vary by category.

Dark stone around the water and greenery beyond the opening make the bath feel quite different from the pale-wood room. Do not expect every bath to overlook the pampas grassland. Both room baths and communal baths use circulating hot-spring water.

For a change of scene, the main building has the communal bathing area and a cypress-surrounded outdoor bath. The annex does not have its own communal bath. Keep that distinction in mind when choosing between buildings.

Dinner gives the evening a change of scene: leave your room for the first-floor restaurant in the main building or annex. Meals are not automatically served in the guest room. Compare the meal plan, dinner time and cancellation conditions together.

Window-side stools and sofas make the lounge another inviting place to pause. Look out towards the garden, then return to the privacy of your room when you are ready.

From Hakone-Yumoto Station, take a Hakone Tozan bus bound for Togendai and get off at Daigatake (台ヶ岳). Susukinohara Ichinoyu describes this as a roughly 30-minute bus ride followed by a one-minute walk. Allow extra travel time before your booked dinner, especially in traffic.

The approach is different if you arrive from the Lake Ashi direction: use the pedestrian crossing beside the bus stop to reach the FamilyMart side of the road, then continue to the inn. There is no pedestrian crossing directly beside the hotel. Do not apply that crossing instruction automatically to arrivals from Hakone-Yumoto; it specifically addresses the opposite direction.
