At a glance

  • Location: Ibusuki, Kagoshima, on southern Kyushu's Satsuma Peninsula.
  • Best fit: travellers who want a hotel-centred bathing stay with time for the gardens and meals.
  • Key decision: room wing and bed arrangement first; bath type and meal inclusions next.
  • Car-free approach: rail to Ibusuki, followed by a separately planned transfer.

Plan your stay

For a separate outing beyond the hotel, consider Lake Ikeda or Cape Nagasakibana. The lake gives southern Satsuma a broad inland-water landscape, while the cape changes the scene to open coast and a lighthouse. Choose a small number of stops and arrange the return journey before leaving; these are excursions around Ibusuki, not facilities at Hakusuikan or walks included in its station transfer.
